Gemini Live Expands: Camera and Screen Sharing Now on Any Android Device with Gemini Advanced

Google has announced that the camera and screen sharing features in Gemini Live, part of the Project Astra, will be available on any Android device with Gemini Advanced, debunking earlier reports that suggested these features would be exclusive to certain devices. The rollout is gradual, so not everyone will have access immediately. Additionally, Google details how the camera and screen sharing functionalities manage when the chat is paused or the screen is locked. The compact fullscreen UI for Gemini Live has been rolled back for most beta users in the latest update of the Google app (16.12). Other updates to Gemini include: the availability of Gemini 2.5 Pro (exp) to free users, integration with Google Maps for finding saved locations from screenshots, and the app's ability to remember the selected model.
