Gemini Live Streamlines Interface: A Peek into Upcoming Astra Features
Google's Gemini Live gets a sleeker, more compact interface on Android, setting the stage for video and screen sharing features.

Compact Interface Update for Gemini Live
- Compact Design: Ahead of the Astra video and screen sharing feature, Gemini Live on Android is receiving a more compact interface. The large circular buttons for 'Hold' and 'End' have been replaced with smaller pill-shaped icons that are about half the height.
- UI Changes: These changes free up space in the top portion of the UI, which will be useful for integrating features like 'Talk Live with' and Astra’s video feed. The new design is part of the Google app beta version 16.10 on Android.
- Additional Updates: Google has also rolled out several other updates for Gemini:
- Deep Research: Fully rolled out on mobile, doubling the number of monthly reports available to users at no cost.
- Flash Thinking (2.0): An experimental model with better efficiency and speed, access to apps, and file upload capabilities.
- Personalization: Wider availability for this experimental feature.
- Availability: Saved info is widely available on desktop and mobile, though not all users have free Gems access yet.
