Gmail Mobile Apps Now Sync Your Web Email Signature for On-the-Go Convenience

Gmail's mobile apps now default to using your web signature if you don't have a mobile-specific one set up, bringing images, logos, and text formatting along for the ride.

Gmail for Android and iOS Now Uses Web Signatures

Google has updated the Gmail mobile apps for Android and iOS to allow users without a mobile-specific signature to have their web signatures applied instead. This change ensures that emails sent from mobile devices will include support for images, logos, and text formatting, just as they appear when sending from the web version of Gmail.

To set or check your mobile signature:

  • Android: Go to Settings > email address > (under General) Mobile signature
  • iOS: Go to Settings > Signature settings

If you prefer not to use your web signature, Google recommends setting a non-empty mobile signature, such as your name. This update is rolling out now and will be fully available in the coming weeks.

Additionally, Workspace apps (formerly known as Workspace Extensions) for the Gemini app are now available on Android and iOS devices in open beta for enterprise/Workspace account users. These apps aim to provide more context within Gmail, Docs, Calendar, and Drive without the need to switch between multiple applications. Full availability is expected by the end of April.
