Gmail's New Look: Enhanced Menus and Icons Boost User Experience on Android
Gmail's latest Android update refreshes overflow menus with icons and thematic organization, enhancing readability and user experience.
Google has introduced a redesign for the Gmail app on Android, aiming to enhance readability and usability of overflow menus by incorporating icons and thematic organization. This update aligns with previous changes made to the Gmail website in October 2023. The new design features include:
- Icons and Separators: Icons are added next to each menu item, and line separators create distinct sections within the menus.
- Menu Grouping: Items are grouped thematically, such as 'Move to,' 'Change labels,' and 'Mark important' in one section. The 'Snooze' option is now paired with 'Add to Tasks.'
- ** Spam Reporting**: A new 'Report spam' option has been added to both the email conversation menu and the inbox selection menu.
- Other Enhancements: The design changes make it easier to navigate and find specific actions, improving overall user experience.
The update is available in version 2025.01.25.721794537 of Gmail for Android, which has been widely rolled out via the Play Store.
