Google Brings New AI 'Labs' Features to Search with Adjustable Overviews and Gemini's Multi-Step Reasoning
Google announces new AI-powered 'Labs' features for Search, including the ability to adjust AI Overviews, multi-step reasoning with Gemini, and meal and trip planning capabilities.

At Google I/O 2024, the company announced new AI-driven 'Labs' features for Search, including the ability to adjust and refine AI Overviews with 'Simpler' or 'Break It Down' options; multi-step reasoning powered by Gemini; meal and trip planning tools that pull in information from around the web; an AI-organized results page; and video-based search. These new capabilities build upon last year's introduction of the Search Generative Experience, which has since expanded to include videos, image generation, clothes shopping, and more.
