Google Chat on the web is getting a split pane UI that lets users respond to conversations without navigating away from the home view. This traditional multi-column UI for messaging apps allows users to open conversations in a new right column and toggle the split pane mode in the home header if they wish to enable or disable it. The feature will be rolling out over the coming weeks to all Google Workspace customers and Workspace Individual Subscribers.
