Google Chat rolls out video messages and voice clip transcripts for Workspace users

Workspace customers can soon send video messages in Google Chat, while voice transcripts are now available.

Google Chat has introduced new features for its Workspace customers, including the ability to send video messages and view transcriptions of voice messages. The View Transcript button appears underneath the waveform of saved voice recordings. Users can send video clips by clicking a record button in the text input field, with options emerging for previewing and re-recording before sending. Video messages will be presented in direct messages, spaces, and group chats with the ability to quote, react or reply in-thread. However, these features require paid Google Workspace subscriptions.
