Google Contacts Widget Adds Message Notifications and Shared Location Features

Google Contacts has made official the ability to see message notifications on the widget, following its initial rollout last month. The 'What's new' section explains that users can now 'see and respond to notifications from certain apps on the contact widget.' Additionally, the widget allows users to 'see shared location from Google Maps,' which is displayed across the full profile image. Another new feature lets users 'set a time of day for when you receive significant date reminders.'
