Google Deploys New April 2025 Update for Pixel Watch, Addresses Step Count Glitches

Google rolls out a new April 2025 update for the Pixel Watch, addressing step count accuracy and bringing Wear OS 5.1 to all users.

Google has released a new April 2025 update for the Pixel Watch, which is now rolling out to all users. The update is based on Wear OS 5.1 and Android 15, with build number BP1A.250305.019.W8. This update addresses an issue where some users experienced a higher-than-expected step count due to changes in the step algorithm. For users who received earlier versions of the April update, this new release reverts the step algorithm enhancements to the original version. Users still on the November 2024 release will receive the March 2025 updates, excluding the removed step algorithm changes. To check for and download the update, go to Settings > System > System updates and disable Bluetooth to speed up the process.
