Google Enhances Circle to Search: Longer Vibration and Improved Haptics for Better User Experience

Google has updated the Circle to Search (CtS) feature with a more prominent vibration pattern to reduce accidental triggers and provide clearer feedback. The update also extends the duration of the vibration, giving users an opportunity to cancel the search if needed before the search bar appears. This change is part of Google's ongoing efforts to refine the CtS interface, which has been simplified with a new pill-shaped container for the search bar, song lookup, and translate shortcut. Additional improvements include color adjustments, simpler animations, and one-tap actions for phone numbers, email addresses, and links. AI Overviews are also introduced for more detailed responses to place, image, and object queries. The update is currently available on Pixel devices with Google app version 16.4.36 and will roll out to other Android devices.
