The latest update for the Google Gemini app on iPhone introduces several new features aimed at enhancing user convenience and accessibility. This includes six lockscreen widgets, each designed to provide quick access to different functionalities of the Gemini AI assistant:
- Type prompt: Quickly type in a question or prompt.
- Talk Live: Engage in voice conversations with Gemini for brainstorming or discussions.
- Open mic: Use voice commands to set reminders, create calendar events, and more.
- Use camera: Capture an image and ask Gemini questions about it.
- Share image: Select an image to get information, generate new content, or start a chat.
- Share file: Share files for context or inspiration. Additionally, users can set these shortcuts as corner buttons on the lockscreen or in Control Center for even faster access. The update also includes the ability to share text, images, and links directly to Gemini from any app, and introduces 'Deep Research' in Gemini Advanced. The release notes highlight UI improvements and bug fixes alongside these new features.
