Google Enhances Pixel Watch’s Emergency SOS with New Confirmation Step

Google is enhancing the Emergency SOS feature on Pixel Watch by adding a confirmation step, aimed at preventing accidental activations during physical activities like exercise. Initially, a 5-second countdown followed pressing the crown five times would trigger an emergency call. Now, users must hold the screen for 3 seconds to proceed with the call. If this prompt is missed, the screen will close after 20 seconds. The new behavior can be altered in settings to revert to 'Automatically call.' This update will roll out over the coming weeks and includes a reminder not to hang up if an accidental call occurs.
