Google Home App Puts an End to Annoying ‘Set Up Nest Cam’ Bug

Summary
Google has addressed a bug in the Google Home app that repeatedly prompted users to ‘Set up new Nest Cam features for Nest Hub Max,’ even though they had already completed the setup. This issue began affecting users around late last year when Google started rolling out support for the Nest Hub Max’s built-in camera in the Home app.
The pop-up was intended to guide users through moving their Nest Hub Max camera settings from the Nest app to the Home app, similar to what was required for other older Nest Cam models. However, after completing the setup, many users continued to receive these notifications erroneously. The bug affected a significant number of users, with discussions appearing on Reddit and Twitter.
Google has now fixed the issue, and as of April 30, 2025, the pop-up no longer appears for users who have already completed the setup.
