Google Keep Simplifies Note Creation with Single Tap Feature

Google is bringing back the 'single tap' feature to create notes in Google Keep, addressing user frustration with the recent redesign.

Summary of Google Keep Update

In November, Google Keep for Android underwent a redesign that transformed note creation into a two-step process, impacting user experience and muscle memory. The latest version, 5.25.014.03.90, reveals an upcoming feature called 'Create text notes with a single tap.' Once enabled in settings, this option will allow users to immediately start typing a new note by tapping the floating action button (FAB), while other note types can be accessed from a plus menu in the bottom-left corner.

The update aims to balance the benefits of the redesign with user convenience. The feature is currently under development and may require a server-side update before it's widely available.
