Google Keep Update Simplifies Text Note Creation with New Default and Audio Shortcut
Google Keep for Android gets a simpler note creation process with the new 'text notes by default' feature, along with an Audio shortcut.
Update for Google Keep for Android
- Text Notes by Default: A new feature allows users to create text notes immediately when they tap the floating action button (FAB), with the keyboard already open. This change aims to streamline note creation, which previously required an additional step to select the type of note.
- Audio Shortcut: Alongside the 'text notes' option, a long press on the FAB will reveal options for Text, List, Drawing, Image, and Audio. Alternatively, users can attach these elements by tapping the ‘plus’ icon in the bottom-left corner of a text note.
- Settings Toggle: The feature can be enabled or disabled via the Settings menu under the 'Note creation' heading. This setting is available in version 5.25.122.00.90 of Google Keep for Android on both phones and tablets.
- Widget Redesign: Google Keep is also working on a redesigned ‘Quick capture’ widget that aligns with new Android design guidelines, as part of ongoing updates to improve user experience.
