Google Maps App Update: Teal Accent Color Replaces Blue on Android

Google Maps app is rolling out a teal accent color for its buttons and UI elements on Android, giving the app a more modern look. This follows other design changes like moving corner weather widget to bottom sheet and simplified bottom bar with just three tabs.

Google Maps app on Android is rolling out a teal accent color for buttons and other UI elements, replacing the previous blue accent. This change is more widely visible in version 24.49.06.x of the Google Maps app after force-stopping it from App Info settings. The server-side update aligns with design changes such as moving the corner weather widget to the bottom sheet and simplifying the bottom bar with three tabs. It follows the updated color palette for the map layer introduced in the same month last year, even though Google Maps continues to not adopt Dynamic Color on Android.
