Google Maps Reverses Controversial Android Auto UI Change
                Google listens to user feedback and reverts a controversial UI change in Google Maps for Android Auto, enhancing the driving experience on smaller displays.
            
             
    After releasing an update in late January 2025 that centered the user’s location on Android Auto displays outside of turn-by-turn navigation, Google Maps has rolled back this change following user complaints. The revert ensures that the driver's location is centered relative to the UI rather than the entire display, improving the visual experience, particularly on smaller car screens. This adjustment was made via a server-side tweak and is currently rolling out to users.
