Google Maps Rolls Out New Features for Holiday Season

Google Maps is rolling out new features ahead of the holiday season, including the ability to report transit delays. Users can now view a transit station and click on a 'Report delay' button, which brings up a list of lines. A yellow 'Delays' card will also appear, specifying how many reports there are. Additionally, Google Maps will surface delay information from local transit agencies.
For drivers with trailers or other attachments, Google Maps will let users enter cargo dimensions to get routes that avoid low bridges and tunnels. This feature will be available on cars with Google Maps built-in, such as the 2024 Chevy Tahoe, Chevy Suburban, and GMC Yukon. More vehicles will be supported in the future.
Google Maps also now allows users to search for items and see nearby stores that have them available. This feature applies to home goods, electronics, apparel, and grocery store items.
