Google Messages Boosts User Experience with Larger, Sleeker Text Field

In February 2025, Google Messages introduced a new update that makes the text field slightly larger and more visually appealing. The pill-shaped text field now has additional padding above and below, aligning with Material 3 design principles. Other changes include an enlarged circular voice memos shortcut and improved animation for the gallery when tapping on the text field. This update comes after several iterations throughout 2024, and it is part of the beta version 20250224_01_RC00. The redesign aims to enhance user experience and is expected to roll out more widely in a stable release.
