Google Messages Features Rollout: What's New and What's Still in Beta
A redesign places read receipts in a circle at the bottom-right corner of message bubbles (and images).

Google Messages has been A/B testing several features that have yet to launch in the stable version of the app. These include a redesign of read receipts, dual SIM RCS support, enhanced scam detection, profile name and photo settings, and an RCS status indicator tweak. Some features have recently launched, such as Google Account Device pairing, Magic Compose, Photomoji, revamped Contact Details page, Reaction Effects, Profiles, Custom Bubbles and backgrounds.
