Google Resurrects Pixel Weather Map After Brief Hiatus

After a brief disappearance, the Pixel Weather app's 6-hour radar map is back, bringing precipitation forecasts to users in the US, UK, and most EU countries.

Google Restores Pixel Weather Map after Temporary Removal

  • Reinstatement: The 6-hour radar map, which had been removed from the Pixel Weather app on Friday, has returned as of Tuesday morning. This fix was implemented server-side.
  • Functionality: The radar map displays a 6-hour precipitation forecast in the US, UK, and most EU countries (excluding Italy and Luxembourg). It includes a fullscreen view with a timeline and play/pause controls.
  • Impact: The removal affected all locations and devices running Pixel Weather, including those experiencing active rainfall. Other features like AI Weather Report, hourly forecasts, and more remained available. The issue was identified in version 1.0.20250127.729684887 of the app.
