Google Shifts Gears: Android TV Big Updates Now Biennial
According to Android Authority, new (major) versions of Android TV will now be released every two years. Google informed Android TV partners of this decision earlier in 2024.

Google is reportedly switching to a biannual release cycle for Android TV big updates, with new versions of the platform being released every two years. The latest version, Android TV 14, was launched this year and will be coming to the Chromecast with Google TV. Android TV 13 was a developer release only and most devices are currently on Android TV 12 or earlier.
