Google Tasks Now Tracks When You Completed a Task, Adds Uncompleted Count to Lists

Google Tasks Adds 'Completed' Date Feature
Google has introduced a new feature to the Android and iOS versions of Google Tasks, allowing users to see the date on which tasks were completed. This update adds a line below each task in the ‘Completed’ card that displays the day and date it was marked as finished. The feature leverages data stored by Google for several years, making it useful for tracking past accomplishments.
This enhancement aims to improve the quality of life for users by providing more context around completed tasks, particularly those without due dates. It marks a step toward making Google Tasks more than just a basic to-do app.
As of today, this feature is available in the standalone Google Tasks apps on Android and iOS but not yet integrated into the Google Calendar web experience or Android app.
Additionally, Google is testing a new feature that displays the count of uncompleted tasks next to list names in the top tab switcher. This feature appears as a vertical pill-shaped container and is currently only visible on one device. While it may be distracting, it could serve as a reminder for overdue tasks. Users have expressed interest in an option to disable this feature.
