Google TV Cuts Nine Free Channels in Largest Purge Yet

Google TV unexpectedly removes nine free channels from its Freeplay library, marking the largest removal since the platform's inception.

Google TV has recently removed nine free channels from its Freeplay library, bringing the total down to 162 channels. This is the largest removal of channels since Google started building out the service. The removed channels include The Hill TV, Dog Whisperer with Cesar Milan, Dove Channel, Comedy Dynamics, The Bob Ross Channel, Shades of Black, OutTV Proud, Dazn Ringside, and Dazn Women’s Football. Most of these channels were added in a single batch in September 2024, suggesting that a deal may have fallen through. It is unclear whether any of these channels will return to the platform.
