Google TV Update Brings Backlit Remote Scheduling to Select Devices
Google TV is gearing up to support scheduling the backlight on some remotes, potentially adding more options for users with high-end devices.
The latest update for Google TV Streamer introduces enhanced support for backlit remotes, a feature that has been primarily left to manufacturers in the past. The new settings will allow users to schedule when the backlight is activated, turn it off completely, or keep it on at all times. By default, the backlight will be active between 6 pm and 6 am, illuminating for 5 seconds each time a button is pressed during this period. This feature could potentially be added to existing Google TV devices or future models with backlit remotes.
