New Gemini 2.0 Experimental Models Roll Out
Following a recent announcement, the new Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental and 2.0 Pro Experimental models are now available in the Gemini app on both Android and iOS platforms.
- 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental: This model is designed to show its thought process after receiving a prompt, cycling through various stages such as identifying the question's scope, recognizing different perspectives, brainstorming key concepts, structuring the answer, refining it, considering nuances, and reviewing edits. It builds on the speed and performance of the stable 2.0 Flash model but lacks real-time information and some features.
- 2.0 Pro Experimental: Aimed at complex tasks and coding prompts, this model offers better understanding and reasoning of world knowledge. It has a 1 million token context window and is available to Advanced subscribers.
Both models are free and widely rolled out today, with the 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental also supporting reasoning across Google apps like YouTube, Maps, and Search.
