Google Unveils Pixel Camera 9.8 with Exciting Astrophotography Animations and Dual Screen Preview
Google Rolls Out Pixel Camera 9.8
Key Updates:
- Astrophotography Animation: A new toggle in Settings > Advanced allows users to enable or disable an animation for Astrophotography, which is enabled by default.
- Palm Timer: The Palm timer feature (raise your hand) now works with the rear camera.
- Dual Screen Preview: Pixel Fold users can use Dual Screen Preview when recording video. For Add Me on the 9 Pro Fold, this feature can now appear on the external display.
- Remote Connected Cameras: This feature allows users of Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold to capture or live stream using supported camera applications with remote cameras. Supported remote devices include Pixel 6+ and GoPro 10 and later (with the latest software). Compatible apps are YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok.
- Camera Picker: A floating pill-shaped container that allows users to add, remove, or disconnect a remote camera, and switch between their device and a remote camera.
Notes:
- Users can only connect to devices signed in with their Google Account.
- Only one remote camera can be connected at a time.
- Audio is sourced from the currently used camera.
- Using a Bluetooth audio source may degrade streaming quality.
- The update is rolling out via the Google Play Store.
