Gemini Deep Research Rolling Out to Google Workspace

Overview: Following its consumer rollout, Google is bringing Gemini Deep Research to Google Workspace tiers that include Gemini Advanced. This feature is available for Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus tiers.

Key Features of Gemini Deep Research:

  • Industry Research: Analyze emerging trends in industries like sustainable battery technology to inform market analysis.
  • Competitive Research: Gather analyses of local competitors and recommend suitable locations for business setup.
  • Customer Research: Prepare for client meetings with detailed reports on their products, management team, and competitive environment.
  • Educational Research: Assist educators with grant writing, lesson planning, class projects, or presentations by creating comprehensive reports based on extensive data analysis.

Expanded Gemini Model Access:

  • Model Picker: Workspace users can now access various Gemini models, including 2.0 Pro Experimental for complex tasks and 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental for multi-step reasoning like project planning.
  • Gemini App Users: Business Starter tier users will have access to 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental, though it is not currently available with work or school Google accounts.

Additional Updates:

  • Document Analysis: Free Gemini users can now upload and analyze documents.
  • Model Removals: The old 1.5 Flash and 1.5 Pro models have been removed from the Gemini app.
  • Google Meet Redesign: A new Material 3 control sheet has been added to Google Meet on Android and iOS.
