Google's Advanced Deep Research Rolls Out for iPhone Users
Google has introduced Deep Research, an advanced research assistant feature, in its Gemini app for iPhone as part of the Gemini Advanced subscription. This tool utilizes sophisticated reasoning and context capabilities to help users explore complex topics and compile detailed reports. Users can initiate a research query by asking questions, which can be multi-faceted. The system responds with a step-by-step plan that can be customized before starting the research process, which typically takes 5-10 minutes but may vary depending on complexity. Once started, users can exit or close the app and receive notifications upon completion. The final report is organized into sections, includes tables when relevant, and lists sources, with an option to export to Google Docs. Daily limits apply for research requests, and the feature currently runs on Gemini 1.5 Pro, with a potential upgrade to Gemini 2.0 Pro in the future.
