Google's AI-Powered 'Expressive Captions' Revolutionize Live Caption Feature

Expressive Captions, powered by AI, are arriving on Live Caption, allowing for nuanced and dynamic speech presentation.

Google's Live Captions feature is getting an upgrade with Expressive Captions, which uses AI to convey more than just speech, including sounds and actions. The new mode will dynamically reflect nuanced speech elements such as tone, volume, and environmental cues, helping users better understand the context and emotions behind speech. Google is also bringing Gemini 1.5 Pro to image Q&A in the Lookout app, which aids vision-impaired individuals by reading aloud descriptions. The upgrade is available on any Pixel device that supports Live Caption.
