Google's Fullscreen Account Switcher Redesign on Android Begins with Gmail

Google is switching to a fullscreen account switcher that takes over everything. The background makes use of Dynamic Color theming, with an 'X' in the top-right corner. You can also close by going back or selecting an account.

Google is rolling out a fullscreen account switcher for its first-party apps, starting with Gmail for Android. The new design takes up the entire screen and features a centered email address, large profile image, and options to manage accounts and add new ones. While this change aims to provide consistency across devices, it may feel unnecessary for some users, especially power users who prefer quick account switching options. The fullscreen switcher is currently available in Gmail version 2024.11.24.x but has not yet been widely rolled out.
