Google’s Project Mariner Set to Enhance Gemini App with Advanced Browser Features in 2025

Google's Project Mariner, a browser agent capable of understanding and interacting with web elements, is set to integrate with the Gemini app in 2025, enhancing its task-completion capabilities.

During the Alphabet Q4 2024 earnings call, Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced that features from Project Mariner and Astra will be integrated into the Gemini app later in 2025. Project Mariner is a browser agent capable of understanding and interacting with web content, while Astra adds screen sharing and camera streaming capabilities. Additionally, Pichai mentioned that Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking, which was launched for consumers last week, will soon be available to developers. He also highlighted the efficiency of Google's models compared to competitors like DeepSeek.
