Hands on with Apple's Updated USB-C Accessories: What Changed?

We take a closer look at Apple's updated USB-C peripheral lineup for Mac including new versions of its Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Keyboard – but don't expect major changes outside of the connector.

Apple finally updated its Mac peripheral lineup with new USB-C Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Keyboard accessories. Despite anticipation for more significant changes or added features, the updates only include a port change to USB-C. Each device comes with a matching braided cable in either black or white. The Magic Mouse remains controversial due to its charging port placement on the bottom. The Magic Trackpad is physically unchanged and still regarded as best-in-class. The Magic Keyboard received minor tweaks to key icons but omitted expected features like backlighting. Exclusive color-matched versions of these accessories are available when bundled with new M1 iMacs, including a unique color-matched cable.
