Security researchers have discovered a critical vulnerability in Karr Security alarm systems, which are pre-installed by dealerships on approximately two million vehicles for inventory tracking. Even if buyers do not pay for the alarm feature, the hardware often remains active and hidden, creating a backdoor for hackers within Bluetooth range. This exploit allows unauthorized individuals to remotely unlock doors and engage engine kill switches, posing a significant risk to vehicle security and owner safety without the driver ever knowing the device was installed.
