Apple's recent release of iOS 18.4 brings significant enhancements to the Home app, including support for robot vacuums via the Matter smart home standard. This update allows users to integrate their compatible robot vacuums with HomeKit, enabling seamless control and automation.

Features:

  • Integration with Automations and Scenes: Users can set up automations to trigger cleaning at specific times or as part of larger scenes in the Home app.
  • Scheduling: Schedule cleanings for particular rooms at designated times.
  • Mode Selection: Choose between vacuuming and mopping modes if supported by the device.
  • Status Monitoring: View the robot vacuum's status, such as whether it is cleaning or charging.
  • Siri Control: Use voice commands to initiate cleaning tasks, e.g., 'Siri, clean the living room.'

Supported Brands and Models:

  • Roborock: S8 MaxV Ultra, Saros Z70, Saros 10, Saros 10R, Qrevo Curv, Qrevo Edge, Qrevo Master, with additional models like the S8 Max Ultra and Qrevo Slim coming soon.
  • Ecovacs: Deebot X2, Deebot X2 Combo, Deebot T50, Deebot T50 Max, Deebot X8, rolling out in phases.
  • SwitchBot: SwitchBot S10 Robot Vacuum and Mop, available now.
  • iRobot: Roomba Combo 10 Max Robot Vacuum and Auto Wash Dock, update to be released soon.
