How Charles Martin Prepares for His Apple Tech Refresh in 2025
In this article, Charles Martin gives readers an insight into his work setup at AppleInsider. His current setup includes a 2019 Intel-based MacBook Pro, a second-gen iPad Pro from 2020, iPhone 12 and AirPods Pro from 2022.
He mostly uses Mac for writing, photo editing and WordPress related tasks. He also needs to stay updated with Windows thus he has a Lenovo laptop which he rarely uses. He mentions his primary requirement is versatility for travel. For that purpose he can use iPad as main work machine when traveling light and connect iPhone with hotel TV when needed.
In 2025, Charles plans to upgrade all these devices. MacBook Pro will be replaced by an M4 Mac Mini or a 14-inch M4 MacBook Pro. He also wants to replace his iPad Pro and is considering updating his HomePods if a new model appears.
