India Emerges as a Major Player: Now Produces 20% of All iPhones Globally

India takes a significant leap in global tech manufacturing, now responsible for one in every five iPhones produced worldwide.

India has emerged as a significant manufacturing hub for iPhones, accounting for 20% of global iPhone production in the year leading up to March 2025. According to sources, $22 billion worth of iPhones were produced in India during this period, representing a 60% increase over the previous year. Apple's main supplier, Foxconn, is set to double its production facilities in the country by the end of 2025, aligning with Apple's long-term goal of manufacturing 25% of all iPhones in India. While the exact number of iPhones produced and sold within India remains unclear, estimates suggest that India now produces between 30 million to 40 million iPhones annually, with around 12 million units sold domestically.
