Intel considers Johny Srouji as potential new CEO

According to Bloomberg's report, Intel might be considering Apple’s Johny Srouji as the company’s next CEO. As reported on Sunday, Pat Gelsinger retired from his position at Intel earlier this month, and the corporation is looking for a new leader. Notably, while this isn't the first time that the chipmaker has considered Srouji - back in 2018 when Brian Krzanich exited - it seems this time could make more sense due to Srouji's impressive career growth.

Johny Srouji joined Apple in 2008 and was responsible for overseeing the development of A4, which went on to be used within the first-generation iPad and iPhone 4. He rose high in his position at Apple - promoted to VP of Hardware Technology just seven years later and continues working closely today with John Ternus.

His leadership in developing proprietary chips allowed him the possibility for Apple to break away from using Intel’s.

While this remains pure speculation as of now, Intel is definitely a company under significant pressure. It missed its opportunity within mobile phone chips market and fell behind significantly when it comes to AI technology.
