Intel Macs' Days Numbered: The Countdown to the End of Support

Apple completed its transition from Intel to Apple Silicon in Macs in 2023 and quickly started dropping support for Intel machines on newer macOS versions. The latest release, macOS Sequoia, only supports a few remaining Intel models including the 2018-20 MacBook Pro and the iMac Pro.

In all likelihood macOS 16 will still support these Intel Macs but macOS 17 in 2026 is expected to be Apple Silicon exclusive marking 6 years since Apple began its transition and around 6 years since the release of the last Intel Mac. Intel users should probably count their days as there are likely only about 2 years left to use current machines with the latest macOS version.
