iOS 17.7.1 Coming Soon: Security Fixes for iPhone Users Not Yet on iOS 18
iOS 17.7.1 is coming soon too, providing important security fixes for iPhone users not yet on iOS 18. The update is recommended for all users still running iOS 17.7, and will likely release publicly next week at the same time as iOS 18.1.

Apple is preparing to release iOS 17.7.1, an update that will provide important security fixes for iPhone users who have not yet upgraded to iOS 18. The update was released as a surprise beta alongside the Release Candidate (RC) betas for iOS 18.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.1. iOS 17.7 was initially released in September, and for most users, it was prominently featured in the Settings app with iOS 18 presented as an optional alternative. The release date for iOS 17.7.1 is not yet confirmed but it's expected to debut around October 28th.
