Apple has released iOS 18.0.1 and iPadOS 18.0.1 updates, which include important security fixes for issues affecting iPhone microphone access and the Passwords app. The updates address a bug where audio messages in the Messages app could record audio before the microphone indicator was active on iPhone 16 models, as well as an issue where VoiceOver could read aloud a user's saved passwords. The updates also include performance improvements and bug fixes, and are available for installation through the Settings app.
