iOS 18.2 Introduces iMessage Child Safety Feature for Reporting Nudes

iOS 18.2 introduces a new iMessage child safety feature, allowing children to report nude images directly to Apple for review and potential action.

The first iOS 18.2 beta introduces a new iMessage child safety feature for reporting nudes to Apple. Communication Safety, already available for children under 13 with an Apple device, is expanding in iOS 18.2 to allow kids to report images directly to Apple. The report includes the images, contact information from both accounts, and a form describing what happened; Apple can then take action on the user's account and report the issue to law enforcement. Initially available only in Australia, the feature will roll out globally in the future.
