iOS 18.2 introduces new web browser features and more for EU users

With iOS 18.2, third-party web browsers in the EU can add web apps with custom engines to the iPhone Home Screen. Previously, these web apps were limited to using Safari's WebKit engine. The new API enabling this feature is only available in the EU, while the rest of the world still must use WebKit.
The first beta of iOS 18.2 also includes an API for integrating Apple Intelligence Writing Tools into apps with custom text engines, though these tools are currently restricted to apps utilizing the system's default text engine.
iOS 18.2 is set to be released in December and will bring additional Apple Intelligence features such as Image Playground, Genmoji, ChatGPT integration, and Visual Search for iPhone 16 models.
