iOS 18.4 Introduces Eight New Emoji and Additional Features

Apple has officially released iOS 18.4, which includes support for eight new emoji as teased by the Unicode Consortium last year. The standout addition is the 'face with bags under eyes' emoji, alongside other additions like a fingerprint, leafless tree, root vegetable, harp, shovel, splatter, and the flag of Sark.

These emoji are designed by Apple and approved by the Unicode Consortium. Users on older versions of iOS will see blank icons when messaging with new emoji from users on iOS 18.4 or later.

In addition to the emoji updates, iOS 18.4 introduces several other features:

  • Apple Intelligence: Expanded support for more languages.
  • Food Recipes Section: Added to Apple News+.
  • Priority Notifications: A feature that ensures important notifications are not missed.
  • CarPlay Enhancements: Various improvements for a better in-car experience.

To update your device, go to Settings > General > Software Update. The new emoji are also available on the latest versions of iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS.
