iOS 18.4 Expands Default App Customization with New Translation and Navigation Categories
Apple has introduced new default app categories in iOS 18.4, enhancing the iPhone's customization options. Users can now set third-party apps as defaults for Translation and Navigation (for EU users only). This feature allows for more personalized device experiences, with links and system-wide actions opening directly in preferred apps. The Default Apps setting is accessible through Settings ➟ Apps ➟ Default Apps, where US users will see nine categories including Email, Messaging, Calling, and Browser App, while EU users have an additional Navigation category.
