iOS 18.4 Glitch Revives Ghost Apps for iPhone Users

iOS 18.4 Reinstalls Previously Deleted Apps for Some Users
A number of users have reported that previously deleted apps are reappearing on their iPhones after updating to iOS 18.4. The update, released on Monday, includes several new features such as priority notifications, additional style options in Image Playground, and expanded language support for Apple Intelligence. However, some Reddit users claim that apps they have never installed have also appeared on their devices.
The issue has been discussed in an Apple Support Communities thread, where multiple users reported the same problem with different apps. Examples include 'Last War Survival,' 'Squid Game,' 'Dropbox,' 'GarageBand,' and 'Infinite Lagrange.' A few users mentioned that these apps were showing a 'Get' button in the App Store, suggesting they had never installed them before.
While the issue seems to be affecting only a small minority of users, it has generated enough reports to suggest that it is real. Apple has been contacted for comment on this matter.
