iOS 19 Brings Major Messaging Upgrades with RCS 3.0 and End-to-End Encryption

Apple plans to support RCS Universal Profile 3.0 in future software updates, most likely during the iOS 19 lifecycle. This upgrade will bring end-to-end encryption to RCS messaging on iPhones, along with several other enhancements introduced in RCS version 2.7, such as the ability to reply and react to messages (including custom reactions), edit, recall, and delete messages. Currently, iOS 18 supports an older version of RCS (2.4), which lacks these newer features. The move to RCS 3.0 will significantly improve the messaging experience for iPhone users who frequently communicate with Android users.
