iOS 19 Elevates Background Sounds with New EQ Settings, Sleep Timer, and Shortcuts Automations
Upcoming Enhancements for Background Sounds in iOS 19
Apple has announced significant improvements for the Background Sounds feature in iOS 19, making it more personalized and versatile:
- New EQ Settings: Users will be able to customize the equalization settings for each sound, allowing for a more tailored audio experience.
- Sleep Timer Option: A new sleep timer feature will allow users to set an automatic stop time for background sounds, ideal for bedtime or relaxation sessions.
- Shortcuts App Integration: Enhanced actions in the Shortcuts app will enable users to create automations for Background Sounds, such as starting a sound at a specific time or location.
These updates build upon the improvements made in iOS 18, which introduced new Fire and Night sounds and an upgraded Control Center toggle. The feature has become a favorite for many users due to its ability to play even while other audio is active and continue playing when the device is locked.
If you haven't tried Background Sounds yet, you can add it from the Control Center's control library.
