iPhone 17 Pro Design Leaks: Metal and Glass Rear Casing
New dummies of the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max have surfaced, providing insights into their rear design. These models will feature a mix of metal and glass on the back, with a significant change in the layout:
- Camera Bump: The camera bump is expected to be made of aluminum, contrasting with previous designs that used glass.
- Rear Casing: A large, rounded rectangular section below the camera bump will be covered with glass, likely for MagSafe wireless charging compatibility.
- Material Change: This design follows reports suggesting Apple might switch from titanium to aluminum for the Pro models, while retaining a glass window on the bottom half of the rear casing.
- Leak Credibility: The leaks come from leaker Sonny Dickson, who has a good track record with future iPhone predictions. His previous mockups of the iPhone 16 lineup matched the released hardware accurately.
The design aims to balance the aesthetic and functional benefits of both materials, but it remains to be seen if this will be the final look for the iPhone 17 Pro.
