iPhone 18 Pro's Bold Move: Top-Left Camera Cutout Could Signal Big Changes

Apple's iPhone 18 Pro may feature a single, top-left corner hole-punch for the front-facing camera, signaling a bold step toward an edge-to-edge display.

iPhone 18 Pro Design Rumor Apple's pursuit of an uninterrupted iPhone display has evolved through various design changes, from the thick bezels and Home button of early models to the introduction of the notch with the iPhone X and its refinement into the Dynamic Island. The iPhone 17 is expected to maintain this design without significant changes. However, by 2026, Apple plans to move Face ID components under the display, leading to a single hole-punch for the front-facing camera in the iPhone 18 Pro by 2027. A new report suggests that this camera cutout might be placed in the top-left corner of the display, a departure from the usual symmetry expected from Apple. This design will serve as a precursor to at least one 2027 iPhone model with an under-display front-facing camera, aligning with the 20-year anniversary of the first iPhone. If implemented, this could mark a significant shift in iPhone aesthetics and user interface.
